Sprouting a STEM Community 2024

El tercer gran evento Sprouting patrocinado por la Fundación Nacional de Ciencias (NSF), el Centro de Cerebros, Mentes y Máquinas de MIT (CBMM) y por el departamento de biología del Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez (RUM). Sprouting a STEM Community 2024 (SSC24) será un programa dado para germinar el interés en Ciencias, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas (STEM) en Puerto Rico.

SSC24 se compone de dos programas que corren desde el 9 de noviembre del 2024 hasta el 30 de mayo del 2025. Actualmente estamos reclutando personas para los Talleres de Investigación en Aprendizaje de Máquinas que se llevará a cabo en el departamento de Biología del RUM. Los participantes de este taller cualifican para solicitar para el Programa de Embajadores, en el que los participantes liderarán su propio taller con currículo de Sprouting. Parte del premio es tener la oportunidad de visitar a MIT completamente libre de costo para aprender sobre investigación y carreras en STEM para traer lo aprendido en su comunidad.

The third major Sprouting event sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the MIT Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines (CBMM) and the Biology Department of the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campus (RUM). Sprouting a STEM Community (SSC24) will be a program given to spark interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in Puerto Rico.

SSC24 consists of two programs that run from November 9th, 2024 to May 30th, 2025. We are currently recruiting people for the Research Workshops in Machine Learning that will be held in the Biology department of the RUM. Participants of this workshop qualify to apply for the Ambassadors Program in which participants will lead their own workshop using Sprouting curriculum. Winners will also visit MIT completely free of charge to learn about research and careers in STEM and bring this information back to help their local community.
